About Laser Hair Removal

While there are many methods to eliminate unwanted hair such as threading, waxing or even plucking, none of them can eliminate hair regrowth. Laser hair removal method use the principle of selective photothermolysis to eliminate hair and its potential regrowth without damaging the surrounding skin which makes it number one non-invasive aesthetics treatment available today.

How it works

Throughout a laser hair removal treatment, light passes through the skin and melanin absorbs it in the hair shaft. This absorption ultimately increases the hair follicle temperature and thermally destroys the cells responsible for regrowth. The attributes of the light which are wavelength, pulse duration and power are all chosen in a way to ensure damage to these cells and not to the rest of the skin.

Technology we use

At Puspa Day Spa, we use SopranoICE that integrates Almas’s SHR method, which ensures safe and comfortable hair removal. SHR works by gradually heating the dermis to a temperature that effectively damages the hair follicles and prevents re-growth, and not causing any injury to the surrounding tissue. While going through the process, a high repetition rate of short pulses will be delivered deep into the dermis by achieving high average power and therapeutically effective heat will build-up. The sweeping in-motion technique of moving the applicator repeatedly over the treatment area warrants full coverage while ICE tech cools the skin surface preventing superficial burns and allowing for virtually painless yet highly effective hair removal.

Effective hair removal requires multiple treatments. The number of treatment one requires depends on various factors such as treatment area, hair growth cycle, density etc. Some treatment plans can be as few as just 2-3 to some treatments being more than 10.
