Features of Cosmetic Tattoo

Cosmetic tattoo, also known as permanent makeup, is a popular method to enhance the beauty of your eyebrows, eyeliners and lips. Not only it enhances your look, but it also minimizes or eliminates the need for daily application of makeups in a number of ways.

Tattoos not only enhances but makes eyebrows, eyeliners and lips appear fuller and darker. They are a good alternatives to people who are allergic to conventional makeup products. Cosmetic tattoos are also used to enhance lips by improving color and shape.

What does the process involve?

The process involves inserting small quantities of color pigments progressively into the skin using a small pen like tool. The pigment remains in the skin indefinitely although the colour may fade due to the factors such as aging of the tattoo, health or environmental factors. A touch-up treatment is therefore, recommended within 45 days after the initial treatment and then every 2 years.

How long does the procedure take?

The entire procedure can take from 1 hour to 90 minutes depending on the treatment you want to have. For eyebrow tattoo, we spend initial 15 minutes in consultation and drawing the shape of the brow that looks natural, symmetrical and suits your face. Once the shape is agreed and color decided, we apply the numbing cream to numb the area effectively before the actual tattoo process begins. Actual tattooing job usually takes an hour in average. So it is always good idea to set aside 2 hours for the entire procedure.

Does it hurt?

The answer is it depends. Based on my experience as tattoo artist tattooing hundreds of customers, you experience a bit of discomfort than the pain during the procedure. Again, this varies from person to person. We try our best to make the experience as less painful or even pain-free as possible by numbing the area effectively before the procedure. Some people even take pain relief medication prior to the appointment but it is not really that necessary. As an alternative, you may want to apply EMLA cream thickly over the area for an hour prior to the treatment but avoid it in the eyeliner.
